To produce this Darjeeling tea, only the top two leaves and the bud are plucked and this harvesting takes place from March to November, a time period that is divided into four harvests. The first harvest consists of the first few leaves grown after the plant's winter dormancy and produces a light floral tea.The newly grown leaves plucked during the first harvest are the youngest and most tender part of the tea plant and will yield the purest and freshest cup of tea that plant is capable of producing. Each additional harvest will have different flavour and aroma characteristics as the growing season for that tea plant progresses.
To appreciate the delicate flavour, this Darjeeling is best enjoyed on its own without the addition of milk.
